Tim Angus
President & CEO

Tim is an innovative and successful executive recognized for his strengths in business development, team leadership and development of new markets, products and services. Mr. Angus has a proven track record of leveraging private and public equity markets for growth stage companies. Before joining REGEN Energy, Tim spent five years as CEO of a Canadian publicly listed clean technology company focused on energy recovery, biofuels and steam efficiency technology. In this role, he executed a major acquisition of a European based partner as well as the establishment of a China based joint venture. Tim got his start in the energy management field at the U.S. head office of Johnson Controls, a Fortune 100 company where he spent 8 years, responsible for leading sales on many of the companies most significant industrial client accounts as a Corporate Client Accounts Manager. Working directly with the Global headquarters team, Tim became a recognized sales leader, continually ranking as one of the company’s top global Sales Executives. Tim possesses a deep understanding of clean technology markets, having served as an Advisor and Director on the boards of several Canadian clean technology companies, as well as an Ontario electric generation company and he proudly serves as an Ambassador for the Ottawa Sustainability Fund.


Mark Kerbel
Co-Founder, EVP Business Development

Mr. Kerbel manages REGEN's U.S. West Coast office based in San Diego, CA, serving customer, channel partners, and utilities in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and west Texas. Mark is co-author of REGEN Energy's swarm logic patent, and involved in the development, funding, and commercialization activities of the firm, particularly with its key U.S. customers and strategic partners, He is a frequent speaker on the topic of emergent systems theory and its application to Smart Grid and Smart Buildings technologies. Prior to forming REGEN, Mr. Kerbel has served as a board member and executive as a founding partner of the SPi Group, one of Canada's leading software solutions providers for the retail energy sector. Mr. Kerbel has chaired and/or been invited to participate on a number of committees in the energy sector including the Electronic Business Transaction Standards Working Group of the Ontario Energy Board, the Technology Joint Sector Committee of the Ontario Energy Association, the Smart Meter Initiative of the Ontario Energy Board and the Regulated Price Plan Initiative of the Ontario Energy Board. More recently, Mark has become a member of the OpenADR alliance. He obtained his B.Math in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo.


Roman Kulyk
Co-Founder, Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Kulyk serves as the CTO of REGEN Energy bringing many years of experience in the energy industry, and is co-author of REGEN Energy's swarm logic patent. He obtained his graduate degree in Computer Engineering and his undergraduate degree in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto. Prior to REGEN, Mr. Kulyk served as the CTO of the SPi Group, where he was a co-founder and board member. He has also served on numerous committees in the energy sector including the Electricity Power Research Institute's (EPRI) Common Information Model Committee, NERC (National Electricity Reliability Council) and the IT Standing Committee of the IESO (Independent Electricity System Operator). Previously, Mr. Kulyk served as a Senior Systems Software Engineer at ADMIC Controls, a local provider of Access Control and Energy Management Systems to large residential buildings.


John Van Schepen
CFO and COO

Mr. Van Schepen is REGEN’s CFO and COO, managing financial, operational, and administrative functions at the company, including management of supplier and distributor relationships. John is an experienced and successful financial executive with a solid background in a number of industry sectors in both public and private enterprises. Prior to joining REGEN, John was President at Intercon Security (a $100MM leader in the Canadian security integration industry) where he led the company through a period of record growth and profitability resulting in the sale of the company to ADT. He has also held key leadership positions with a number of high-growth enterprises and has had significant experience in strategic planning and execution, acquisitions and divestitures, and a broad array of financial disciplines. John earned his MBA at McMaster University and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
